# Block out time with an event

> Block time for meetings, leave or anything that isn't a patient visit.

Events block a practitioner's time for things that aren't appointments, such as lunch or a meeting. Admins and reception can create them.

Right-click a column and choose **New event here** (on a phone, tap **+**). Give it a title, choose the practitioner and time, and select **Create event**.

Nobody can book on top of an event. Select an event to change it, or drag it to move it.

> **Delete** on an event removes it at once, without asking.
