# Find your way around the calendar

> Change the view and date, choose practitioners and locations, and read appointment blocks.

Open **Calendar** in the sidebar. Practitioners see only their own calendar.

## Change the view and the date

Choose **Month**, **Week** or **Day** at the top right. Use the arrows to move back or forward, **Today** to come back, or the calendar icon to jump to a date.

## Choose who and where

Admins and reception can pick which practitioners to show with the **Practitioners** picker in the toolbar. If your practice has more than one location, use the **Location** list to show one location at a time.

## Display options

Select **Display** to change how the calendar looks, such as which day the week starts on, showing initials instead of names, and colouring by practitioner or appointment type. These follow you to other computers.

## What an appointment block shows

* The colour shows the practitioner, or the appointment type if you colour by type.
* A flag on the right edge means something needs attention, such as an unpaid invoice or a note still due. Hover over it to read it.
* A warning triangle means a repeating appointment has a problem.
* Cancelled and did not attend appointments are faded.

Grey time is outside working hours. Leave and clinic closures are marked on the calendar.

## On a phone

The calendar shows day and month views. Tap **+** to start an appointment or event, and **Options** for filters and display. To move an appointment, open it and change its time.
