# ePrescribing (ScriptPad)

> What Bilby sets up, and setting up each prescriber.

Practitioners prescribe from the patient record with **Prescribe** on the patient's **Prescriptions** tab. Bilby connects your practice first, then an admin sets up each prescriber. How to prescribe is on [Clinical](https://docs.bilby.health/clinical/overview).

## What Bilby sets up

Bilby support connects your practice. There's no Settings page for it. Until it's done, **Prescribe** is greyed out.

## Set up a prescriber

An admin does this for each practitioner who prescribes. The practitioner must be linked to a Bilby account with an email address, in **Settings › Users**.

1. Go to **Practitioners**, open the practitioner and select the **Prescribing** tab.
2. Enter their AHPRA number, PBS prescriber number (if they have one) and HPI-I, then save.
3. Select **Request prescribing activation**.

Bilby reviews the request and arranges activation, so it isn't instant. Select **Refresh status** to check on it. If it says more information is needed, fix the details, save and select **Resubmit request**.

## Why Prescribe is greyed out

Hold the pointer over **Prescribe** to see why.

| "Prescribing is not set up for this practice yet. Ask Bilby support to finish setting it up." | Contact Bilby support. |
| "A practitioner profile is required to prescribe" | Only a practitioner can prescribe. Link the account to a practitioner in **Settings › Users**. |
| "Prescribing is not activated for you yet. Request activation on your Prescribing tab." | Follow [Set up a prescriber](#set-up-a-prescriber). |
| "Add your AHPRA number in Prescribing settings to prescribe." | Add the AHPRA number on the **Prescribing** tab and save. |
| "An email address is required to prescribe. Add a primary email address to your Bilby account." | Add an email address to the practitioner's sign-in account. |
