# Medicare and DVA

> Check Medicare details, claim bulk bills and rebates, collect assignment of benefit, and claim from DVA.

Bilby checks patients' Medicare details and sends claims to Medicare and DVA from the invoice. Admins, reception and practitioners can check details and send claims. Practitioners can claim only on their own invoices.

## Before you claim

* Your practice's PRODA device is set up. See [Integrations](https://docs.bilby.health/integrations/medicare-setup.md).
* Each practitioner has a Medicare provider number for each location, on their **Locations** tab.
* Each fee has its MBS or DVA item. See [Set up your services and fees](https://docs.bilby.health/billing/services-and-fees.md).
