# Questions about patients

> Answers to common questions about patient records.

### Why can't I find a patient?

They may be inactive. Change the Status filter to all patients. Practitioners see only their own patients.

### Why can't I see Merge a duplicate or New invoice?

These are for admins. Reception raises invoices from **Billing**.

### Bilby asks for the IRN

Enter the IRN from the card, or 1 if you don't know it, then save again.

### My file is too large to upload

Scan it at a lower resolution and upload it again.

### Why is there no Read details item?

It appears only for PDFs, and only when Bilby can read referrals for your practice. Contact Bilby support if you expect it.

### Bilby says the PDF is a scan

Type the details in, or ask the sender for a text PDF.

### "Too many referrals have been read for now."

Nothing was changed. Try again later.
