# Manage your Bilby plan

> How Bilby charges, subscribing, changing the card, and what read-only means.

**Settings › Plan & billing** shows your practice's Bilby subscription. This is what you pay Bilby, not what patients pay you.

## How Bilby charges

Each active practitioner is one seat. Reception and admin users are free. SMS and electronic prescriptions are charged for what you use. GST is added.

## Subscribe

A new practice starts with a free trial. To subscribe, open **Settings › Plan & billing**, select **Subscribe** and add a card. If you subscribe during the trial, you aren't charged until it ends.

## Change the card, download invoices or cancel

Select **Manage billing**.

## What read-only means

A practice becomes read-only when the trial ends without a subscription, or when payments keep failing. Everyone can still read patient records, but changes and SMS stop. An admin can subscribe or update the card from **Plan & billing** to make the practice work again.
