Only the practice owner can export or delete the practice. To hand the practice to someone else first, see Getting started.

Export your practice’s data

Open Settings › Account and select Export practice data. It can take a few minutes, and you can leave the page. When it’s ready, select Download export. Keep the file somewhere safe. Your practice must keep its records for the required number of years, so keep the export for as long as you must keep the records.

Delete the practice

Export the practice’s data first.
  1. Open Settings › Account.
  2. Select Delete practice, and type the practice name to confirm.
  3. Select Schedule deletion.
The practice freezes straight away. Online booking, the patient portal and staff access stop. After 30 days, Bilby can permanently erase the data. Once erasing has started, the practice can’t be restored.
Scheduling deletion cancels your Bilby subscription. It doesn’t close your Stripe, Xero, Medicare or other connected accounts. Close those yourself.

Restore the practice

Until erasing starts, the owner can open the practice and select Restore practice. The practice works again as before, and your Bilby subscription starts again.
