Medicare requires the patient’s signed assignment of benefit for every bulk-billed claim.
  1. Open the bulk bill row’s menu and select Get sign-off (assignment of benefit).
  2. Choose how the patient signs:
    • Sign now: hand this device to the patient to check the services and sign.
    • Send a link: send the patient a signing link by SMS or email.
  3. Once it’s signed, you can download the signed agreement from the same menu.
If a link expires before the patient signs, select Resend link. To send a link, the patient needs a mobile or email on file. Otherwise, use Sign now. DVA claims don’t need an assignment of benefit.
